Maritime Foundation, located in Nungambakkam, Chennai, was founded in 2000 to provide structured maritime education and training. It is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Government of India, and affiliated with Indian Maritime University (IMU), Chennai. The institute strictly follows international guidelines under the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Convention adopted by the IMO. Quality compliance is a priority, with periodic audits by IRQS, and the institute has been certified to ISO 9001:2015 standards. It has also successfully undergone the Comprehensive Inspection Programme (CIP) by DG Shipping, earning strong ratings for its training quality.
