Course Description

The B.Sc. Nautical Science program is a residential, 3‑year undergraduate degree approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. It is designed to provide cadets with a strong foundation in navigation, seamanship, ship stability, cargo handling, meteorology, maritime law, and marine engineering basics. Graduates are eligible to join ships as Deck Cadets and, after completing sea service and examinations, progress to the Second Mate Certificate of Competency, enabling them to serve as navigating officers worldwide.

Eligibility Requirements

1. Academic: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) and minimum 60% aggregate. 2. English: Minimum 50% in English (Class 10 or 12). 3. Age: Not more than 25 years at the time of admission. 4. Medical: Must meet DG Shipping medical standards, including eyesight (6/6 vision, no color blindness). 5. Entrance: Admission through IMUCET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test)
